6.2 SLSA Equipment Policies

Purpose

To define the requirements for the use of SLS equipment in accordance with SLSA policies.

Overview

Equipment specifications and policies are endorsed by the SLSA National Lifesaving Member Advisory Committee. All SLS personnel must comply with applicable policies when using SLS equipment. The most current versions of these policies are available on the SLS Hub.

Examples of relevant SLSA policies include:

  • Use of SLSA Equipment,
  • New and Modified Equipment,
  • Gear and Equipment Specifications (Lifesaving),
  • SLSA Approved Gear and Equipment Manual,
  • SLSA Equipment and Uniform Branding, and
  • IRB Outboard Motor Sealing Process.

Procedure

SLS personnel must use, maintain, and operate equipment in accordance with applicable SLSA policies and specifications.

Where uncertainty exists, reference must be made to the SLSA Members Portal or guidance sought from SLSSA.
