16.1 SLSA References

Purpose

To outline SLSSA’s obligation to comply with applicable Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) policies, procedures, regulations, and national minimum standards.

Overview

SLSA maintains a number of national policies, procedures, regulations, and governance documents that apply to entities affiliated with SLSA.

SLSSA, as an affiliated body, is bound to comply with applicable SLSA requirements.

The SLSSA Standard Operating Procedures should be read in conjunction with relevant SLSA policies, training manuals, award requirements, regulations, circulars, and other national documents.

Procedure

SLSA policies, together with the SLSA Constitution and Regulations, form part of the National Policy Framework.

Policies and procedures are periodically reviewed and updated by SLSA and relevant national bodies.

All SLS personnel must be aware of their obligation to comply with applicable SLSA policies and procedures relevant to their role, activity, or operational function.

The master copy of SLSA policies and procedures is maintained by SLSA and is available through the SLSA Members Area / Document Library.

Where there is inconsistency between a local process and an applicable SLSA policy, procedure, regulation, or mandatory requirement, the matter should be escalated to SLSSA for review and direction.
